October 4, 2025
Clearfield, Pa -Brad Benton of Duncansville claimed the Semi Late portion of the Mountain Top Nationals Saturday night at Hidden Valley Speedway, Shannon Casher of Mineral Springs won the Small Block Modified portion while the other winners were: Eric Lucas of Clearfield in the Pure Stocks, Jeff Huber of Mayport won the Four Cylinder main and Eli Kennedy of Linden won the Micro Sprint feature.
In Semi Late Action, Justin Owens and Luke Hoffner led the field to the start, with Owens shooting into the lead with Dan Beatty moving into second from his fourth place starting spot. Fifth place starter Brad Benton moved into second on lap five, but by this time, Owens had built up a nice lead. On lap six, Bob Cessna moved by Benton and into second and was trying to reel in Owens, but he dropped out on lap 11. Benton returned to second and continued to work on Owens, and with five laps to go, Benton was able to steal the lead away from Owens and he held him off the final few laps. At the finish it was Benton over Owens, Chad Desmett, Beatty and Josh Kresko.
Shannon Casher and Levi Picard led the Small Block Modifieds to the green flag, with Casher taking the lead and never looking back. Picard held on to second with Craig Casher coming from sixth to third, Chris Luzier was fourth and Trent Ogden completed the top five.
Eric Lucas got off the front row before Ryan Jones and led the Pure Stock main from start to finish to get his second win of the weekend. Brent Lee held onto second while the rest of the top five were: Shannon Casher, pulling double duty, Dale Schreckengost and Matt Gornick. Heat wins went to Lucas and Jones.
Jeff Huber and Jason Elensky led the Four Cylinder field to Sam McClellan’s green flag, with Huber taking the lead and going on to cross under McClellan’s double checkered flags. Joe Huber was second ahead of Brett Hanley, Elensky and Ryan Lippert. Jeff Huber and Elensky won the heats.
Young Eli Kennedy led the Micro Sprint feature the whole way with Shawn Rumbaugh finishing second and Teegen Kauffman in third.
